Our purpose in life? Fall Kings! According to doctors, Chinook salmon from the Pacific Northwest is the healthiest food on earth. Time to stock up the freezer because they are here NOW! Local estuaries are receiving a daily influx of fish fresh from the salt water. Mooching at the jetty tips, or trolling in the bay produces good numbers of quality fish. Indian summer in September/October is the best opportunity for warm, relaxing, comfortable King salmon trips on our 20’ jet sled. With the first heavy rains in late October/ early November, we pile in the driftboat as the smaller streams swell and break through to the ocean. Hordes of fat, impatient salmon come busting through the breakers..these fish are fully charged in tight quarters and they are angry. These are the fullbacks of the fish world and its football season! This can be a short intense fishery so book early for mid-November/early December slots because by mid-December, the winter steelhead are trickling in again.
